Close to downtown but away from the intensity, and near North Haven's famed golf course, this year-round home ticks off many buyer boxes. The original home dates from 1905; a 2009 addition almost doubled the living capacity as well as providing an opportunity for updating and reinforcing the original home. The careful design of the addition melds into the older part of the home seamlessly. This corner lot is large and mostly cleared, with several outbuildings, including one recently constructed. There is a large unattached garage with an attached storage room. A deer-protected garden is in place, while mature deciduous trees shade large portions on the side and back of the property. There are mature plantings along the home. The home has a covered front porch across the entire front of the building, allowing room for outdoor furniture; comfort while delighting in views of the Thoroughfare. The back deck, recently updated, has plenty of room for outdoor seating or a place for toys and family fun. There is also a small deck off the kitchen, perfect for an outdoor grille. The first floor sits above ground level, both front and rear outdoor stairs providing access. Views of the Thoroughfare are available from the front windows, but the covered deck shields the windows from those passers-by using Iron Point Road as a great place to walk. Slate countertops and a slate sink in the kitchen reflect the renovation process, along with cherry cabinetry and a built-in floor to ceiling cherry cupboard. Off the kitchen is the laundry room with built-in shelves to provide even more storage, and a powder room. Steps off the laundry room allow outside clothes-hanging if desired. A large dining room could be visually divided to include a second sitting area or a small office nook. The living room runs along the major portion of the front. A likely buildable lot across the street is included with this property.
